Welcome to PTA+, where the conversation is for PTAs, by PTAs!
PTA Plus Podcast

A podcast for PTAs, by PTAs.

ABOUT PTA+

Where PTAs Break the Mold...and Build What’s Next

PTA+ was created for the PTA who refuses to shrink inside a title.
For the PTA who knows they bring more: more depth, more talent, more experience, more leadership, more heart.

For years, I kept hearing the same thing from PTAs everywhere:

“There’s no growth.”
“There’s no space for us.”
“There’s no opportunity.”

And yet…every PTA I met was quietly proving that wrong. They were all PTAs... PLUS... they had backstories, second careers, advanced degrees, certifications, side hustles, leadership roles, and influence that went far beyond what the profession seemed to acknowledge.

That disconnect lit a fire under me.

PTA+ exists to bridge the gap between the title and the truth.

This podcast shines a light on the PTAs and PTs who are educating, innovating, leading, building, mentoring, running programs, shaping policies, or doing the hard work of change with no spotlight, until now.

Here, we talk openly about growth, power, possibility, and the future that PTAs are more than ready for.

This is not a passive platform.
This is a movement.

ABOUT KATIE SUTTON, PTA, MA

Host. Educator. Advocate. Professional Button-Pusher.

Hi! I’m Katie, a Physical Therapist Assistant with over 20 years of clinical and academic experience, a PTA educator, and the creator/host of the PTA+ Podcast.

I started PTA+ after stepping out of my own comfort zone and accidentally landing a role in a DPT program role, a leap that showed me firsthand:

PTAs are not limited.
We are under-recognized.

And when we position ourselves well, ask better questions, seek out gaps in healthcare, and step into leadership instead of waiting for permission?

We can do far more than the profession has historically expected of us.

I’ve spent my career in outpatient orthopedics, clinical education, and professional development. I’ve served at both the state and national levels through the Ohio Chapter and the American Physical Therapy Association.

But titles don’t tell the whole story, and honestly, that’s the entire point of PTA+.

Outside the classroom and committee rooms, I’m a coffee-and-dark-chocolate addict, weightlifter, hiker, occasional jogger, compulsive book-buyer (finishing them is optional), and mom to two hilarious teenage boys who keep me grounded and wildly entertained.

WHAT PTA+ IS ALL ABOUT

Not just to question, but to shape.
Not just to participate, but to lead.

THE PTA+ COMMUNITY

We’re building something bigger.

This isn’t just a podcast, it’s a community of PTAs who are:

  • Ready to elevate themselves and their careers

  • Hungry for growth and new opportunities

  • Willing to challenge norms

  • Eager to lead, inspire, and innovate

  • Positioned to fill gaps in healthcare

  • Unapologetically refusing to play small

If you’re ready to step into the “plus”, the power, the potential, and the possibility beyond your title — you’re in the right place.

Welcome to PTA+.
Let’s elevate the profession together.
